今日は、以前オーストラリアに住んでいたSomaリーダーとRyomaリーダーから、スペシャルクイズがありました！Somaリーダーからのレポートをご覧ください。
Today we explored the theme of nature and animals.
To start off, the teacher showed us pictures of different types of nature and the students tried to name them all. Most of the students already knew all the different types of nature so we were able to zoom through this activity.
Next, we finished off the bingo game from yesterday where we practiced asking “Do you like …?” and receiving either “Yes I do” or “No I don’t” as a response. Today luck was on our side as the students were able to get a bingo very quickly. As a reward, the students received a very cute sticker of a cat.
Speaking of cats, following the bingo game, we learned about different animals. The teacher started off by showing us pictures of common animals such as a dog, cat and cow.
After we looked at common animals, Ryoma leader and I introduced animals from Australia through a quick game of “What’s in the bag?” and a short presentation. We were able to hug cute Koalas, Kangaroos and Wombats.
We also learned that animals with pockets, like kangaroos, are called “Marsupials”. Although it was a difficult word, the students pronounced it very well.
To wrap up the day, we did a short show and tell of our favorite animals and went shopping for our favorite animals.
We got
used to using the phrases “My favorite animal is…” and “I want …, How much is
it?”.
As it was the fourth day, some of the students who were a little shy over the past few days seemed be coming out of their shell. More students were answering the teacher’s questions with energy and enthusiasm. It’s sad that tomorrow is our last day but let’s have a lot of fun!
