【英語学校】英和小アフタースクール 夏の英語プログラム2日目

先週のプログラムにもリーダーとして参加してくれたSomaリーダーが、本日もブログを書いてくれました!

Today, was the 2nd day of the program.

We focused on the weather, emotions and moods.

We started our lesson by learning types of weather ranging from the most relevant sunny to snowy.

We all looked outside and tried to determine the weather. It was a little difficult because it was sunny but we were able to see some clouds in the sky. However, some students were able to think of creative names for this kind of weather like “partly cloudy”.

Afterwards, we all drew our own sun using red, orange or yellow coloring pencils. We practiced writing and saying the phrase “My sun is red/orange/yellow”. Some suns had a big, bright smile.

Once we had brightened our mood through drawing suns, we learned about a wider range of emotions and moods.

The teacher drew faces while the students tried guessing what each face was feeling. Many of the students were able to identify the emotions that the faces were showing. Some students challenged themselves by drawing faces that expressed emotions that were difficult to draw like “full” and “scared”.

To finish off the lesson, we played two games of bingo using the emotions and moods we learned. Students were rewarded with a sticker for every bingo they got. Surprisingly, many students got 3, 4, 5 bingos, so many ended up with many stickers on their sticker card.

Throughout the program, most of the students were participating with energy and enthusiasm which helped brighten the mood of the classroom. This hunger towards learning English will help the students improve their English skills.
