最終日の今日も、様々なアクティビティを楽しみました!
5日間、一緒に過ごしたRyomaリーダーから子どもたちの成長を報告します。
Today was the 5th and final day of the summer program. The theme was about “sports.”
We started class with a quick show-and-tell where each student presented their drawings of their favorite sports in front of the whole class. As always, I was stunned to see everyone’s drawings. They were incredible! I was also surprised when one student said her favorite sport was cycling.
After the show-and-tell, we played a gesture game where the students acted out their favorite sports. It was nice to see everyone engaging in the activity with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. Their acting skills were on point.
Then, as a class, we played sports basket.
The rules were the same as the old-fashioned fruits basket game except each
student was assigned their own sports instead of a fruit.
Lastly, we played bingo. The game was irrelevant to the initial theme, but the students learned and practiced how to use basic phrases like, “Do you have…?” and “Yes, I do/No, I don’t.” The students went around interviewing different people about what they “have” using these key phrases. It was the perfect activity to conclude the program.
I had a blast with the students throughout
the duration of this program! Although the program only lasted for 5 days, I
think it was a great learning experience for both the students and the leaders.
It gave me some basic insights on how I can engage with young children and be a
role model to them.
It was a lot of fun so thank you!
