YMCA Global Kindergarten・４月活動報告
It’s April, the month of new starts.
At YMCA Global Kindergarten (YGK), an English kindergarten run by Yokohama YMCA, we started a
new school year.
On Wednesday, April 6, we had an opening
ceremony in which we welcomed our new friends and celebrated those moving up
into a higher grade.
Everyone seems happy and excited with their
new classrooms.
As we started our new school year, we
learned our new daily routines and other important things, like classroom
rules, safety rules, etc.
Speaking about the safety, the Cub class
(5-6 years old class) visited Yokohama Disaster Prevention Center to learn more
about our safety. We experienced big
quakes and a smoke room. Teachers
learned how to use a fire extinguisher.
We can never be ready enough for disasters, but at least, this little
bit of knowledge will help us in emergencies.
As for the Puppy class (3-4 years old
class), everything is totally new to them.
They had their very first lunch in school, their first music lesson, and
more. Of course, everyone will have much
fun throughout the year, there's much more to come!

４月、新しい始まりの季節です。横浜ＹＭＣＡの全日制英語幼児園・ＹＭＣＡグローバルキンダーガーテン（ＹＧＫ）でも、新しい年度を迎えました。
４月６日（水）には進級・入園式を行い、新しいお友達の入園と、在園児の進級をお祝いしました。
みんな新しい教室にわくわくしています。
新しい年度になりましたので、それぞれのクラスでは、新しいクラスでの生活の流れや、クラスでのお約束や安全のルール等の大切なことを学びました。
安全について言えば、カブクラス（年長クラス）では、よりしっかりと安全について学習をするために横浜市民防災センターに行ってきました。大きな地震や煙の部屋を体験しました。教員は消火器の使い方も練習させていただきました。災害に完全に備えることは難しいことですが、少なくともここで得た知識は災害に直面した時にきっと助けになることと思います。
パピークラス（年少クラス）に皆にとっては、全てが新しい経験です。お友達と一緒にクラスで食べる初めてのお弁当、初めての音楽クラス等、たくさんの初めてがありました。もちろん、パピークラスだけではなく、他のクラスの皆にも楽しいことがたくさん待っていますよ。
さあ、次はどんな楽しいことがあるのでしょうか。安全に楽しく過ごしましょう。
