【英語学校】英和小アフタースクール 夏の英語プログラム3日目

Ryomaリーダーは、子どもたちにとって、頼れるお兄さんのような存在です。

今日も子どもたちの様子を書いてくれました。

Day three of the summer program. Today’s theme was about “toys.”

We started off with a quick show-and-tell, where the students were shown all different kinds of toys and had to guess the names of each of them. It was a nice activity to start off the class and I could tell that the students thoroughly enjoyed it.

After the show-and-tell, we drew out our favorite toys and presented it in front of the whole class. Again, I was stunned to see how well everyone could draw. We learned new phrases like “my favorite toy is…” and “I like…” to talk about our favorite toys. Throughout, it was nice to see the students cooperating with each other whenever they were unsure about something or they needed help.

Finally, we played a quick, but fun shopping game. The leaders set up three stores selling toys varying from robots and puppets to video games and soccer balls. The students were given $10 each to spend and went around shopping toys using phrases like “I want…” and “How much is this?” It was a nice activity for the students to use their newly acquired English skills in a real-life, simulated situation. After the activity, one student commented, “I was so nervous that I began sweating during the activity.” Clearly, it was a great learning experience for the students.

As always, I had a blast with the students!
