カブクラスでは、環境をどうやって守るか、そして環境を守ることがどうして大切なのかということを学んでいます。ゴミがどのように処理されるのか、そして海まで流れ込んでしまうゴミや油もあること等、話をしました。水を張ったトレイに海の生き物の模型を入れて、オリーブオイルと黒い絵の具を使ってオイル漏れを検証しました。私達の出すゴミが海の生き物に与える悪影響を目で見て、体験して、興味を持つと同時に、こんなことが起きていることに思いを寄せて悲しい気持ちになりました。
On Wednesday, the Cub students started their theme about learning how and why it’s important to take care of our environment. We started our theme by talking about trash and how some trash and oil will end up in the ocean. We set up a tray with some sea creature toys, trash and an “oil spill” using olive oil and black paint. They found it interesting and sad to see and experience how some of our ocean is because of the negative effects of trash.
